UM Pro Bono Tax Assistance Project

The University of Mississippi School of Law Pro Bono Initiative is now sponsoring a FREE TAX SERVICE through the Free Assisted Self-Help Tax Preparation (FAST) Program offered under the IRS.

If your household earnings in 2011 were less than $49,000, you qualify for FREE INCOME TAX PREPARATION ASSISTANCE through the Free Assisted Self-Help Tax Preparation (FAST) Program.

Let our IRS-certified preparers assist you with your tax return and e-file.

Services will be offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3 p.m. – 7 p.m. starting January 17 through April 17, 2012 at the Lafayette County and Oxford Public Library.

Also open Saturday, January 28th and Saturday, February 4th from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Note: WE WILL BE CLOSED on Tuesday, March 13th and Thursday March 15th for The University of Mississippi Spring Break.

You MUST bring the following items with you to have your tax return prepared and filed at a FAST site:
• Original Social Security cards (NO PHOTOCOPIES ACCEPTED) for the tax payer and everyone claimed on the return. Contact the Social Security Administration to obtain cards or for more information.
• Valid photo I.D.
• All income documents such as W-2’s, 1099’s, etc.
• FOR DIRECT DEPOSIT: A canceled check or your bank account routing number and account number. A bank account must be established at a financial institution of your choice prior to visiting a FAST site for tax return preparation and filing.

We provide computers, internet access, professional tax software, and IRS-certified volunteers to assist with your 2011 tax returns and e-file. No appointment necessary. Let our IRS-certified preparers assist you with your tax return and e-file.
